About Us

Small Business Development

The HMRTECH/HJ Ford Joint Venture recognizes the important contributions made by small business to our Nation. We believe small businesses bring good capabilities and technical know-how to assist HMRTECH/HJ Ford Joint Venture to better serve our customers. The HMRTECH/HJ Ford Joint Venture develops strong alliances with small businesses and to the principles and the spirit of the provisions of Public Law 95-507, as amended, and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19, which establish requirements for participation in federal contracting opportunities by:

  • Small business (SB) concerns
  • Small disadvantaged business (SDB) concerns owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals
  • Small business concerns owned and controlled by women (WOSB)
  • Historically under-utilized business zones (HUBZone)
  • Veterans, including service disabled veterans (SDV)
  • Historically black colleges and universities/minority institutions (HBCU/MI)

Working with small businesses is more than a commitment or strategy. It’s good business and is supported at the highest levels of Joint Venture management. Our commitment to small business is an integral part of our foundation. Almost all subcontracting activity is accomplished through upfront teaming on specific procurements. Therefore, it is critical that small businesses interested in teaming have capabilities/niches related to the customer's statement of work. Additionally, two great discriminators or differentiators are knowledge of the customer and strong past performance qualifications.
